Charles Ginner [blocks] 1878 - 1952
Charles Ginner (1878-1952) Charles Ginner was born in Cannes and
educated abroad. He began to study art in Paris in 1904 before moving
to London in 1909. By 1911 he had become one of the leading figures of
the Camden Town Group. In 1916 he was called up, eventually becoming an
official war artist. After the war, he painted primarly landscapes and
city views. Ginner produced a total of eleven prints - all cut in wood
- between 1917 and 1931.
